WHY The importance of good lighting is now recognized as a necessity instead of a luxury. Therefore improved lighting options are being installed and so in order to control these efficiently, Lumen 8 has developed a smart lighting control system called MOODZONE. A lighting scenario required for reading would be quite different to that for viewing TV or for enjoying a romantic dinner. To dim lights up or down individually to create the correct ambience can be inconvenient. MOODZONE allows you to instantly select customized preset light dimming combinations to suite your individual lifestyle requirements. At the touch of a button your lighting transforms the mood of your home magically. CONVENIENCE Convenience has never looked better. Create your own moods for different activities to enjoy dinner, read, watch TV, relax, entertain, etc. However lights are also operated separately when required. And once you are ready for sleep, lights can be turned off from your bedside with one push of a button. With custom labeled control panels, simplicity of operation is ensured. For added security, a touch-screen controller which incorporates a timer can activate your lighting MOODS automatically at specific times while away. WHERE & HOW MOODZONE is intended for residential use mainly in general areas (kitchen, dining, lounge, home theatre, patio, etc) and is suited for 6 or 12 circuits. Wiring, although simple, does differ to standard wiring . It is thus more suited to new installations although existing projects can generally be done. Installation is carried out by any competent electrician with the wiring diagram supplied. Lights are wired to a dimmer unit and the system is operated with ZONE controllers (to operate individual lights) and MOOD controllers (to select pre-set lighting combinations). MOODS are also able to be selected with remote control. A touch screen controller offers enhanced functions such as an events manager which allows various MOODS to be activated automatically in ones absence. |
